Pro Military

Colorado Springs is home to five vital military installations, with Peterson and Schriever Space Force Bases playing a strategic role in national defense. But rising housing costs and monopolistic development practices (the Norwood cartel) are threatening the military’s long-term presence here (source). Voting YES on Issue 1 supports a smart, strategic development plan—the Karman Line project—which directly answers military requests for more affordable housing and improved connectivity between our key bases. This is more than city planning, it is national security.

Housing Costs:

Supporters of Issue 1: “I work at Schriever and live 40 minutes away because it’s the only place my husband and I could afford. I love this town and I love my job, but we need Karman Line. I am telling all my friends to Vote YES on Issue 1.”

Commute & Travel Times:

Supporters of Issue 1: “For me, less time in my car means more time with my daughter. My mission is space but my passion is my family and having housing near to work would be a game-changer for us. Yes on Issue One is important.”

Schriever & Peterson: Secure the Future of Space Operations:

Supporters of Issue 1: “As one of the commanders at Schriever, I can tell you first-hand how important city infrastructure is to our mission. A Yes vote on Issue One means supporting the future of space defense right here in Colorado Springs.”

Expansion & Stability: Competing with Huntsville Starts Here:

Supporters of Issue 1: “If we are not talking about the impact that housing shortages, commute times, utility infrastructure, and expansion options have for the future of Space Force in Colorado Springs than we are missing the boat. Yes on Issue One (please!)”
