Why Issue 1 Matters To You?

City Council spent two years approving “Karman Line,” but now there is a special election to over-turn it. Norwood Development Group, Colorado Springs’ biggest developer, spent nearly $1.0M on out-of-state petitioners to force a $500,000 special election. See the truth on this site they don’t want you to know.

Colorado Springs is at a crossroads

Housing prices are soaring. Families are being pushed out. Teachers, firefighters, and service members can’t afford to live near their families or where they work. Voting YES on Issue 1 gives Colorado Springs families a real chance to stay together—and grow together.

YES On Issue 1: Pro Family, Pro Military, Pro Water

Pro Family
Colorado Springs is family-friendly.  Voting “Yes” on Issue 1 keeps it that way with safer neighborhoods, manageable traffic, lower taxes, and more homeownership opportunities for young families.

Norwood Development Group wants you to vote NO. They own 85% of the family housing land — and they want a monopoly. If they win, get ready for higher taxes, soaring crime, more apartments jammed into your neighborhood, and greater wildfire danger.

The Norwood cartel doesn’t want you to know the facts. But here they are.
Pro Military
The Karman Line project is nestled between Schriever Space Force Base and Peterson Space Force Base on the bank of Colorado Springs’ future Bostrum reservoir. We need more places for our military families to live and play; this project is a solution.

Government reports make it clear that COS is at risk of losing military operations and defense spending because of our city’s sky-rocketing housing costs. Karman Line is a direct response to addressing the challenges identified by the Department of Defense.

Pro Water
City Council, Colorado Springs Utilities, and multiple independent water experts spent two years conducting public review of the Karman Line project. This extensive analysis demonstrated Colorado Springs has twice the water the city currently uses and the Karman Line project is a responsible use of our city’s water resources.

The real story? The Norwood cartel is planning a massive 60,000 house development and wants all of the city’s water for their corporate use with no restrictions. They don't care about preserving your water, they care about preserving their monopoly. Yes on Issue 1 protects your water supply and ensures your water isn’t controlled by a malicious monopoly.

As a military family it's tough to find housing close to base. Karman Line would provide much needed housing in an ideal location for those of us stationed at Shriever or Peterson."
